Previously Head of Retail Capital Markets and Senior Equity Partner of Strutt & Parker, Chris has built a nationwide reputation as a market leader in the retail investment and development sectors with a particular expertise in shopping centres and retail parks.

As Chief Executive of Sovereign Centros, Chris has originated and overseen a series of major transactions in the last six years, including the corporate acquisition and integration of Centros into the Sovereign business as well as two of the largest acquisitions in the UK, Glasgow St Enoch Shopping Centre and Elephant & Castle in central London, which will become one of the largest and most significant regeneration projects in the capital.

This is as well as implementing ambitious development and asset management strategies which have delivered significant rental and capital value growth for Sovereign’s partners in the portfolio under management.  Partners include:

Some 25 years of experience has exposed Chris to a very wide and varied investor base, including some of the most prominent UK institutions and property companies as well as major US investors and other public and private sector groups.

Chris was selected by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) to sit on its National “Young Achievers” Committee as representative for the property industry. 


Tim has nearly 50 years experience in the property industry. Formerly a partner at Edward Erdman, he was chief executive of Heron Property Corporation from 1985 - 1989.

Tim founded Sovereign Land with Graeme Newman in 1989 and has initiated a wide range of successful limited partnerships, joint ventures and debt purchases with a variety of leading institutions.

He served on the RICS General Council, has chaired a number of RICS committees and was President of its Planning & Development Division.


With more than 25 years experience in retail property, John has developed close working relationships with many of the country’s leading retailers and property institutions.

His experience includes developing retail schemes across the UK in locations including London, Manchester, Bristol, Wakefield, Hove, Shrewsbury, Nottingham and Preston.

Prior to joining Sovereign Centros in 2004, he held the post of development director at Chartwell Land, and before that he was a director of the developer Southern & City Property Group.

John was also a member of the Accessible Retail Committee for several years.


Jane has been responsible for all financial aspects of the Sovereign Land group for more than 10 years.

She started her career at ICL in 1989 while studying for her accountancy qualification. Jane worked at La Porte and Wickes post qualification before joining Lionsgate Ltd in 1999.  
 
Following Lionsgate's purchase by Sovereign Land the same year, Jane became Financial Controller of Sovereign Land and was promoted to Finance Director in 2009.

Guy has more than 12 years experience in the property industry.

After graduating in 2004, he worked at Montagu Evans (general practice), Sanderson Weatherall (valuation) and DTZ (development).
 
Guy joined Sovereign Centros in 2010 and is now working development and asset management initiatives at Telford Shopping Centre, St Enoch in Glasgow and Wakefield. As well as having worked on the asset management of Mermaid Quay in Cardiff, the asset management and refurbishment of Ayr Central, and development and asset management of Trinity Walk in Wakefield.

Luke has gained over 10 years of experience in the property industry since graduating from the University of Warwick with an Engineering degree in 2007.

He joined Sovereign Centros from Savills where he had worked for 6 years, primarily in the retail sector. As an Associate Director in Savills’ Retail Investment team, Luke was involved in numerous successful shopping centre acquisition and disposal instructions.

Since joining in 2014, Luke has been heavily involved in Sovereign Centros’ expanding investment and development programme, working on a number of projects over that time including the acquisitions of One Stop Perry Barr and Corby Town Centre.

 

Simon is a senior asset management expert with over 10 years experience in the shopping centre retail market place.
 
He joined Sovereign Centros in January 2015 from M&G Real Estate where he was a Director within the retail asset management team for over seven years. Prior to that he was an asset manager at both Aviva (formerly Morley) and LaSalle Investment Management where he first developed his expertise in the retail property market.
 
His experience has included full asset management responsibilities for eight shopping centres across the UK as well as retail warehouse parks and high street properties.

Michael joined Sovereign Centros in September 2017 as a Senior Asset and Development Manager. 

He qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2007 and has over 14 years’ experience in the property industry.

He moved from Land Securities where he spent 3 years as a Portfolio Manager within the Shopping centre team, with primary responsibility for all aspects of asset and leasing management on White Rose in Leeds. Prior to this Mike was an asset manager at Lend Lease working on Bluewater shopping centre in Kent.

Before returning to the UK in 2012, Michael gained international experience working as a Vice President in the Property Asset Management department for Jones Lang Wootton in Malaysia. Earlier on in his career, Michael was an Associate Partner at Doherty Baines in Mayfair providing a wide range of asset management advice on mixed use portfolios across the UK.

Mark joined Sovereign Centros in 2011 from Cushman & Wakefield.

He has advised funds, developers, landowners, occupiers and the public sector on the development of over 10 million sq ft of new schemes and shopping centre refurbishments both in the UK and abroad, including the multi-award winning 2.5m sq ft Liverpool One scheme.

Alex joined Sovereign Centros as a Senior Surveyor in 2014.

She previously worked for Network Rail as Retail Portfolio Surveyor responsible for devising and implementing asset management strategies for asset including Liverpool Street, Birmingham New Street and Manchester Piccadilly.

Alex qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2011.

Jack joined Sovereign Centros as a Development & Asset Manager in 2016 and will be working on various initiatives across a number of Sovereign Centros projects, including Telford Shopping Centre and Wakefield.

Having studied at Exeter and Reading, Jack qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2014.  

Prior to Sovereign Centros, he worked as a Senior Surveyor in Commercial Valuation at Allsop.

Paul has worked within the retail and distribution sectors for over 30 years heading up a number of retail strategy, property development and construction teams. With careers at B&Q, BAA, Sainsbury’s and Netto, Paul has been responsible for the acquisition, development and construction of retail food and non-food stores and distribution facilities throughout the UK. He has also worked in Taiwan studying building design in the Far East and China, where he spent two years researching  future international retail landscapes.

Paul has worked for a number of senior retail leaders and is passionate about retail operations, the future shopping environment and how bricks and mortar stores remain as important as ever in an evolving shopping climate.
