Next opens 25,000 sq ft store at Sovereign Centros/Orion's Telford makeover.
Duo is pushing on with significant upgrade and extension of 1m sq ft mall.
Sovereign Centros and Orion Capital Managers yesterday saw Next open a 25,000 sq ft store at their 1m sq ft Telford Shopping Centre, where they are pushing on with a significant makeover.
The duo has been leasing up the demolished and extended centre to retailers Next, River Island, H&M and New Look, with the latter three due to open shorly.
Sovereign Centros chief Chris Geaves says the plans have been to bring in the “category killer major fashion stores” it has missed in the past.
The Telford Centre is undergoing a £55m redevelopment.
The centre’s food and beverage offer was expanded first with a 26,500 sq ft Southern Quarter, home to TGI Fridays. A 100,000 sq ft Northern Quarter development is also now complete and includes a 19,500 sq ft Aldi store and a 21,000 sq ft B&M store.
Work is completing on an 80,000 sq ft fashion extension, which will house River Island, Next, New Look and H&M. House of Fraser and Zara remain anchor tenants at the scheme.
