11th June 2021
Three more urban areas where Sovereign Centros is active, have been awarded millions of pounds of funding from the Government’s Towns Fund. These are in addition to the £23.1m of funding that was recently announced for Workington and £20.9m for Preston.

Telford has been awarded £22.3m for projects that will transform the town centre, creating jobs, boosting economic growth and ensuring a bright future for residents and businesses.

Meanwhile North Northamptonshire Council has been successfully awarded £19.9m to deliver four projects which are designed to help improve Corby and unleash the economic potential of the area.

And Doncaster has been awarded £24.8m to support a number of regeneration projects drawn up by their Town Deal Board. These include a Railway station forecourt extension, multi-use building and public realm plus a Heritage pot.

Development and Asset Manager, Jack Gordon, says “We are delighted that these towns and their collective ideas have been recognised by the Government. We look forward to seeing the benefits this investment will bring in addition to the excellent work already being done by the local authorities and Sovereign Centros.”
