Arc Bury St Edmonds
Opened 2009 | 265,000 sq ft
On behalf of funds advised by Delancey and in partnership with St Edmundsbury Borough Council, Centros undertook the redevelopment of the 12-acre former cattle market site in Bury St Edmunds town centre to create 'arc' – a mixed-use scheme aimed at expanding this market town's retail offer.
Providing a Debenhams department store, 35 shops, 62 residential units, a new 500-seat multi-purpose public venue and over 850 car parking spaces, the open pedestrian shopping streets have been designed as a natural and seamless extension of the town centre's medieval street pattern.
The development won a BCSC Gold Award in 2010, a RIBA Award in 2011 and a Civic Trust Award in 2012.
