Business Plan & Achievements

Appointed on behalf of the investors in January 2022 to replace the former asset manager to prepare and implement a new business plan for the shopping centre and retail parks.

The focus of the plan is a proactive leasing campaign, seeking solutions to former department store space and upsizing existing successful retailers and reconfiguring/repositioning certain key areas of the Centre.

There is a particular emphasis on the promotion and delivery of a major new leisure and food & beverage/leisure ingredient. To this end we have successfully introduced Hollywood Bowl to the Centre who will act as a strong catalyst to bring in more casual diners to Merry Hill.

At the same time, we have introduced a range of new brands and repositioned key existing traders. These include a new Ted Baker outlet, upsizing of the H&M to a flagship store, retaining Superdry and upsizing of Beaverbrooks

Sustainability is a key ingredient of the Business Plan. Negotiations have just been completed with Zest and Tesla to introduce a total of 46 car charging points at the Centre. This will greatly improve the provision for electric cars in the Dudley area.

Olympus Power have also committed to fit 2,250 solar panels to the roof, which will provide 20% of the power for the Centre going forward.
