14 lease renewals completed in the first 12 months of instruction, securing £800,000 of rent, along with 6 new lettings including JD Sports, Pure Gym and Superdry.
Working in conjunction with Basildon Council to develop a masterplan with mixed-use proposals which will establish the new Eastgate Quarter as the focal point of the town centre.
The strategy includes halving the retail footprint, primarily focusing on the Asda and former Debenhams department stores. The reduction in retail space unlocks the opportunity to create an open and truly mixed use town centre offer with a major residential component for up to 3,000 units.
Planning application submitted due for determination by March 2021.
The business plan is to secure a planning consent and use the major regeneration potential to provide and underpin a range of exit options.
