Instructed to renegotiate an outdated agreement for lease for a large Sainsbury’s unit on stilts which it no longer wished to occupy following a change of corporate strategy.
Successful renegotiation with Sainsbury’s completed for a 90,000 sq ft store at grade with new car parking and an ‘all ways’ vehicular entrance, subject to planning permission.
Planning consent granted in early 2022. Redevelopment commenced September 2022, practical completion due in summer 2023, Sainsbury’s opening later in the year.
Currys is to be temporarily relocated within the park during the construction works and will return to a modernised unit alongside Sainsbury’s in summer 2023.
Alongside the new Sainsbury’s, the frontages of retail units will be modernised. This is expected to be rolled out across the remainder of the park in 2023/24.
