Vicar Lane Chesterfield
Opened 2000 | 220,000 sq ft
This town centre regeneration scheme of 220,000 sq ft was developed in partnership with Chesterfield Borough Council and completed in April 2000.
Being almost indistinguishable from other parts of the prime shopping route, the development has been successfully integrated into the shopping circuit to become part of the traditional town centre.
Anchor tenants included BHS and Woolworths (since replaced by H&M).
English Heritage was particularly complimentary about the development: "A conservation-led retail development that revives the heart of a historic town and sustains it."
