Customers can also benefit from a 37,000 sq ft Everlast Gym, accessible through Sports Direct.

Ger Wright, managing director Sport at Frasers Group, said: “We are bringing the ultimate fitness destinations to Metrocentre with the opening of Sports Direct and our Everlast Gyms flagship.”

Meanwhile, the group’s luxury fascia Flannels, founded in Cheshire in 1976, is heading back to its Northern roots with the opening of 50,000 sq ft in the shopping centre.

The store houses brands such as Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford, Vivienne Westwood and contemporary brands such as Amiri, Off-White, and Palm Angels. It will be the first regional store to include its new home offering, featuring Versace, Off-White, Assouline, Jonathan Adler, Pols Potten, among others.

In its beauty department, shoppers can choose from brands including Dior, Chanel, Creed, and Dolce&Gabbana Beauty – which is making its first bricks-and-mortar Flannels debut, and visit Burberry and Moncler’s first-ever fragrance counters.

David Epstein, managing director of premium and luxury at Frasers Group, said: “The scale, proposition and brand offering to be discovered at Flannels is unrivalled – with fashion, beauty, and home in one destination. ”

Ben Cox, director of Sovereign Centros, which manages Metrocentre, said: “The addition of flagship stores for Flannels, Sports Direct and Everlast Gyms into the former Debenhams department store represents a major milestone in the centre’s asset strategy.”
