H&M METROCENTRE STORE PUTS SUSTAINABILITY & CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE FIRST

06th June 2022
This spring sees the opening of a new H&M (Hennes & Mauritz) store at the Metrocentre shopping centre in Gateshead. The shop offers a new interior look and feel for the brand, putting customer experience and sustainability first.

H&M Metrocentre “will be the leading store of the Northeast” says H&M U.K. & Ireland Country Manager Toni Galli. “It has a welcoming, modern and meaningful shopping experience where style, creativity and culture are celebrated.”

Customers visiting the new store will notice a warmer and relaxed environment, as well as a lower volume of products which will be displayed in a curated and inspirational way.

With sustainability at the heart of its business model, H&M continues to lead the transition to circular, climate positive fashion. These values will be built into the foundation of the new store which offers H&M’s Garment Collection and Recycling service.

Ben Cox of Sovereign Centros, Senior Asset Manager for Metrocentre, commented: “Over the past year we’ve been working on delivering an ambitious business plan to reinvigorate this prestige shopping centre and attract major international brands and new occupiers.

“The investment by H&M, and introduction of the region’s first H&M Home, demonstrates Metrocentre’s position as a leading retail destination. It is set to be an exciting couple of months!”
